Tstat President's November Message
During the months of November and January the Atlanta Chapter will be trying a new time for our main meeting to allow our members that cannot normally attend nighttime meetings the opportunity to get involved. These meetings will be held from 11:30am – 1:30pm at the FoxSports Grill @ Atlantic Station. Lunch will be served from 11:30am – 12:00pm and our speakers will present from 12:00am – 1:00pm. The Tuesday, November 13th meeting will feature Tom Kelleher and his presentation is "Bid Process Rules and Regulations". There will be no Education Seminar or Technical Forum during these meetings. The cost for these lunchtime meetings will be $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
On Thursday, November 15th we will hold our Macon Section meeting at the Macon Holiday Hotel & Conference Center. The presenter will be Mr. Chris Edmondson and his topic will be "Is it raining in your boiler?". Please make the trip to Macon and help support the Macon Section.
On Tuesday, December 11th we will hold our annual Holiday Meeting at Fernbank Museum and will be honoring our past presidents of the Atlanta Chapter. This is a fun event for members, spouses and friends, so please feel free to bring someone along for the evening. We will be having dinner with a cash bar and watching the IMAX film "The Alps". Cost is $50 per person and includes admission to Fernbank Museum, Imax movie and dinner. Past Presidents and a guest are free. Reservations are required, so RSVP to cccalloway@bellsouth.net, or call Caroline Calloway at 770-663-4339.
Our annual product show will be held on Wednesday, March 12th from 10:00-3:00 at the North Atlanta Trade Center in Norcross. Please sign up for booths early by contacting Bruce Longino at blongino@mingledorffs.com. Engineers and contractors please mark you calendars to attend this great event.
Our ASHRAE Research Promotion Drive got off to a great start for the 2007/8 year with the Fall Golf Tournament at Hamilton Mill Golf Club. Please start planning your team for the Spring Golf Tournament or help support ASHRAE Research by sponsoring a hole, luncheon or if you are not a golfer, we would graciously accept individual and corporate donations.
As president, my main goal for this year is to continue to improve on our service to our members in the Atlanta Chapter. We have moved to a new location, revamped our website (websitewww.ashraeatlanta.org), and have put together a dynamic group of volunteers. We would appreciate your feedback on any improvements that can be made to help serve you and our industry better. Please feel free to contact me at gnorthrup@bacheco.com, or 770-449-0680, ext. 124 with and comments or questions.
We look forward to seeing all of you at future Atlanta Chapter meetings and events!
