Speaker: John Mench, Southern Polytechnic State University

Dr. John Mench is a senior lecturer at Southern Polytechnic State University where he has taught for the last twelve years. He teaches mechanical and electrical systems for building construction and construction finance in the Construction Management department. He
started teaching after he retired from a twenty plus year career in the food manufacturing and food retail business.
When he retired he was vice-president of engineering and construction and one of ten LBO owners of Big V supermarkets (a ShopRite member). Throughout his career as an engineer and businessman he was involved
with industrial and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. He is a licensed professional engineer, a Vietnam area veteran, a member of ASHRAE, a senior member of the AEE, and a life senior member of the IEEE. He has written many lecturers, articles, and books concerning his area of expertise. He has earned certificates/degrees in electricity & electronics, air conditioning systems, electrical engineering, and business.
