Please join us for lunch Tuesday February 8th at ASHRAE Atlanta Headquarters to hear Mark R. Ames, the Manager of Government Affairs for the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Mark will speak about the governmental impact on HVAC issues.

Prior to joining ASHRAE, Mark Ames served as the Manager of Government Relations for the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), where he represented NASSP members on Capitol Hill, the White House, and relevant federal agencies. While in the NASSP position Mr. Ames oversaw all federal relations concerning green school buildings, budget, appropriations, school leadership, and a number of other issues. Mr. Ames also built and oversaw NASSP's Federal Grassroots Network, and State Lobbyist Network, which have helped enhance member knowledge of the inner workings of legislative developments on Capitol Hill, and increase the effectiveness of the organization's advocacy efforts.

Mr. Ames holds a Masters and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science from The American University, and is a graduate of the Public Affairs and Advocacy Institute from American.
