If you looking to advance your career and enhance your professional skills, volunteering with ASHRAE provides numerous opportunities you may not otherwise have. Take it from these ASHRAE leaders:
"I enjoy the ability to help my industry, and in turn helping the community. In the process, I get to have fun and create a great network of friends in the industry."
- Brian Justice, Atlanta Chapter Secretary
"I don’t believe in joining an organization and just being a member. The whole experience is so much more beneficial when serving as an active member. I have been an ASHRAE member since 1983 and I have received double what I have given. I value my friendships, contacts and education received through ASHRAE. Serving has grown my confidence, abilities and given me the assistance of my peers in performing my job and advancing my skills."
- Pam Immekus, Region IV Vice Chair, History and Atlanta Chapter Honors & Awards Co-Chair
"I initially got involved in order to learn more about our industry and how ASHRAE works. This would be done through meeting industry leaders at the local chapter and I felt that just attending the meetings was not giving me the networking piece to achieve this goal. My hope was to understand our standards and how they were applied in our local market. By getting involved in the chapter I feel that I now have a greater understanding of our industry and have met several individuals I consider friends outside of ASHRAE. I can call these friends when I have questions regarding ASHRAE or our industry in general and they are more than happy to help a fellow ASHRAE volunteer!"
- Charlie Fischer, Atlanta Chapter Immediate Past President and Product Show Chair
"I volunteered for the Atlanta chapter committee to continue my ongoing service to the community, create a strong professional network within my industry and use my skills and experience to make an impact on our local community. Eventually I want to expand my scope of influence nationwide for the betterment of society."
- Nick Kassanis, Atlanta Chapter Student Activities Chair
